Happy New Year!

 

 And I truly hope that it is for each of you and your families. It seems like many of us were happy to say good-bye to 2015 for various reasons.

 We, here at the shop plan to have a wonderful 2016 with some new ideas and some continued favorites.

 We appreciate each of you and look forward to seeing you.

First Saturday of each month.

 We will be having Guild Day. Bring in your membership card or current badge to receive 10% off of your order. The usual exceptions will apply.

 

Open Sewing, Thursdays, Jan. 7, 14, 21 & 28. Now open until 5pm on Thursdays.

 
Come and join in a fun day of quilting. Large tables are available for cutting, irons, ironing boards and knowledgeable staff and quilters to answer questions. There is always laughter and conversation. We can order lunch in or bring your own.

 

Friday, 1/1/2016!, Mystery Sew, *Clara* 10 am- 4 pm, No Charge
 
This is a quick mystery quilt. If you wish to join us, please call to reserve space and get Step 1. Your quilt top will be well on its way to completion by the end of the day. Bring something to share for lunch (Pot-luck).

Come in and join us. Work on your hand project and enjoy some great company. This is a no machines allowed day. We will be starting a new project in Feb.

Are you ready to make Snowmen? These very cute snowmen adorn the skinnie project for this month! We have again included some embellishments to stir your imagination. Kits for club members are $12.50.

 

Tues., Jan. 19, Hot Plate Technique,

*Monique* 10 am-4pm $35.00
 
Start the New Year with some joy and “Piece-ing”! We’ll use Moniques’ Hot Plate pattern to create a cozy quilt or something bright and cheerful for your table.  Pattern is required.

Hello,

 

 Is it absolutely amazing to know that the end of the year is just around the corner? The year has flown by.

 We have been blessed by your friendship and have had fun helping to build your projects. What a fun ‘job’ to have!

 We look forward to our New Years’ Day Mystery Quilt. Clara has put together the quilt for us and it is beautiful. Better still the top can be completed in one day!

 Please check the schedule this month as there are a couple of changes. We’re  also having an inventory reduction SALE .

 Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah and a have a blessed New Year,

 The North Pole project for Dec. is very cute and has lots of opportunity for embellishment. Come in and stay for the day or pick up your kit and play later. The kit is $12.50 for club members. If extras are available they are $17.50 for non-members.

 With the New Year comes counting inventory! We will give 15% off most items in order to not have to count so much. I hope you will come in and help us out.

 

Christmas Hours:  We will close at 1pm on Christmas Eve (24th) and remain closed until Dec. 29th (Tues.) for the holiday.

 

Friday, 1/1/2016! New Year’s Day: Mystery Quilt, *Clara* No Charge 10am-4pm

Mid-November

Hello,
It is time to send out an update to our November schedule and advise you of our Holiday hours.
We are looking forward to some great classes and have a great SALE planned.

SALE: We will be having our Black Friday and Small Business Saturday sale before Thanksgiving! The dates will be Nov. 17th through the 21st. Almost everything in the shop will be on sale (excludes classes, gift certificates and items already on sale). Books and patterns will be 25% off; fabric (minimum 1/2 yd. cuts), thread and kits will be 20% off. Come in and enjoy the savings.

Holiday/Winter Hours: We will be open Mon.11/23 and Tues. 11/24; closed Wed. 11/25 and  Thurs. 11/26. We will re-open on Fri. 11/27 for our regular hours. After Thanksgiving, we will be closed on Mondays. Our winter hours will be Tues., Wed., Fri. and Sat. 10am to 4pm. The shop will be open on Thursdays until 5:00pm starting Dec.1st.

Friday, Nov. 13, Running Star Table Runner *Pam* 10 am – 4 pm
Pam has made this 11 ½” x 29” runner which is a great size for many of us. You can use templates or the Tri-recs rulers to complete the project.
 
Tuesday, Nov. 17, Thread Play/Birds, *Monique* 10 am- 4 pm $35.00
This is a change from our originally scheduled class. Due to many requests, Monique will be teaching a more in-depth thread play class. She will include techniques for creating her wonderful birds. Join the class a gain confidence with this art form. 
Saturday, Nov. 20, Quilted Skinnies   *Melanie* 10 am – 4 pm $20.00 Club Fee.
We will be working on the Fall, cornstalk, quilt. These are very cute, quick-to-make wall hangings measuring 12”x 24”. They use fusible applique, offer opportunity for embellishments and we have kits available for $12.50 each month for club members. Join the club and come in to pick up your kit or stay and work. Melanie will be available for instruction as needed. The benefit for joining the club is a 15% discount on purchases made on class day whether it is related to class or not. The club fee is $20.00. (Usual class discount is 10%).

The next couple of months are full of craft fairs all over the valley. Check with the news media and we have printouts in the shop with schedules and locations.

Hello,

 I just want to let you know about a few things that are coming up in the next few weeks. We are participating in Make a Difference Day on Sat. 10/24. From now until the end of Oct., bring in a pillowcase which will be donated to Intermountain in Kalispell. This is a place that restores hope for children and a very good cause. We will give you a free fat quarter for each pillowcase brought in.

 We will also have a sale starting 10/24 and going through 10/29. Most product in the shop will be 20% off. The usual exclusions (items already on sale and classes, etc.) will apply.

 We will be closed for Thanksgiving. An update on Holiday hours will be out in the next couple of weeks.

Looking for something a little extra special for that appliqué project?  Or perhaps you just have a pile of colorful fabric that you're not quite sure what to do with.  Using the techniques from the book Simply Stunning Woven Quilts by Anna Faustino, we'll explore how to create a beautiful background by weaving two (or more fabrics) into one gorgeous work of art!  Bring your inner child and let's play.

Hello,

 Are you enjoying these cool mornings (and days)? Soon, our garden beds will be put to rest and it will be time for quilting again. Come join us for some classes and events.
 There are a couple of interesting ‘holidays’ for this month that I think we will celebrate. Tues., Oct. 13th
is Face Your Fears day. Look in your project stack and take one out that you might have questions about and come in to the shop with it. We will answer questions and help you out as much as possible. Karri will be on hand to answer quilting questions also. Another day to celebrate is Sat., Oct 24th, Make a Difference day.  Bring in a completed pillowcase any time from the 19th through the 24th and receive a free fat quarter for each pillowcase donated. A free pattern can be found online. Pillowcases will be donated to Intermountain in Kalispell. This is a place that restores hope for children and a very good cause.

We have been working on our patterns by Crane Designs.  Each of us has personalized our project and they are great. Above is a picture of one of the finished designs. As always, if you have something you are working on, you are welcome to bring it! Just remember, no machines allowed today.

Tuesday, Oct. 13, No Sew Bag,   *Pam* 12 am- 4 pm $20.00
Make a no sew bag that can be used for gifts for the  holidays. This is a quick project and you will enjoy making it.
Saturday, Oct. 17, Spiky Runner  
*Clara* 10 am – 4 pm $35.00
 Come and enjoy a day with Clara making this spiky runner. The pattern is a free download and we have the 15 degree ruler for the project. I think it looks like a dragon’s back so I probably will have to make one for my son’s house.

Friday, Oct. 23, Lazy Girl’s Run-around Bag, *Cinda* 10 am – 4 pm $35.00
 A couple of fat quarters and a zipper will make this darling bag. It is the perfect size for phone, id and some cash to go out for a day. Cinda will share her experience making this bag. Coin purse is not part if this class.

 This will be a busy month. The Bigfork Piecemakers Quilt Guild Show is on the 12th and 13th.  June 12th also is the beginning of Shop Hop. It runs until the 27th. As usual, there are prizes to be won and fun to be had. We will be posting updates during the month regarding shop events.

  Pam will be teaching this foundation paper pieced wall hanging/table topper. She has printed the foundation pieces on a product that does not need to be removed from your project. Doesn’t that make life easier? We have 3 kits still available at $55.00 each and 1 set of foundation pieces if you would like to bring you own fabric. The kit includes the Quiltmaker magazine that features the quilt and pattern.

 

Friday , June 19, Twisted Fibers,

  Please note the date change due to the quilt show.
  We have been working on our patterns by Crane Designs. Each of us has personalized our project and they are great. As always, if you have something you are working on, you are welcome to bring it! Just remember, no machines allowed today.

 

Saturday, June 20, Demo,

  Monique will be doing a demo to show how to play with  ink pencils and Terial Magic on your art quilt.  Be sure to stop in, join in the fun and say “HI!”
