Quilty Essentials – NEW Class

10am-1pm – Sandi - $15

Interested in a beginning quilt class?  Or maybe you need to brush up on quilt basics.  We are offering several half-day classes designed to teach many quilt fundamentals.  At the completion of the class schedule, a lap-sized quilt will be complete.  Or sign up for just the class you need a refresher on.  Sandi begins the schedule with how to use your sewing machine.  She will discuss all aspects of the machine, including how to clean and oil your machine, how to wind a bobbin, and discuss presser feet and their usages.  Bring your sewing machine manual so she can individualize the information to your machine.

Friday, Febuary 14

Twisted Fibers Resumes

10am-4pm – Sandi - $10

The new Twisted Fibers project lead by Sandi is a Spring wool crazy pieced wall hanging.  You will learn many embroidery stitches using the Sew Cherished method of transferring the stitching guide directly onto the fabric.  So if you’re a beginner, no worries!  Come and learn and enjoy the process of hand stitchery.  A fabric kit will be available.

Bargello Table Runner

Have you always wondered how these interesting quilts are made?  Or maybe you’ve done one before and need a refresher.  Clara, being the wonderful piecer she is, will show you the way.  You can be assured that once you learn a technique with her, you will know how to make it with precision. We offered this in January but many asked to have it rescheduled.  So here it is!

Sunday & Monday, Febuary 16 & 17

Central Park Mini Retreat

9am-8pm both days - $95 – Karri, Leader

We all LOVE retreats, sewing for hours at a time, feeding our faces, and sharing with friends.  BQE will be holding a mini retreat.  Sew all day and sleep in your own bed each night.  Sewing will begin at 9am.  Lunch, dinner, and snacks will be provided.  Sew until 8pm and head home to your cozy bed.  Piece and applique this quilt, Central Park, or bring your own projects.  The retreat will be themed to match the Central Park quilt.  So come in out of the winter blues (or white) and experience the colors of Spring.

Professional Tote

10am-4pm – Sandi - $30

This tote carries your laptop computer and has many other pockets to make traveling a piece of cake.  This is one of those totes that Sandi’s expertise will come into play as you use zippers and interfacing to make all of the great pockets.

Spring Sprouts – Our NEW BOM

This month we begin Edyta Sitar’s “Spring Sprouts,” our new 8-month Block of the Month scheduled for the 4^th Friday of each month.  This pattern includes both piecing and applique.  The kit includes all fabrics for the quilt top.  It will be up to the individual as to which style of applique they use.  Sign up for $25 and come and spend your 4^th Friday sewing with Sandi, or just come by to pick up that month’s block.  The blocks cost $10 per month with the 1^st and 7^th months’ costs at $22 for additional fabrics needed.  The pattern is $20.

Every Thursday - Open Sew

The studio is open every Thursday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Open Sew, with extended hours the 2^nd and 4^th Thursday until 6 p.m.  Bring your sewing machine and whatever project you're working on.  There is a large cutting table and extra large ironing board available for your use.

  

Longarm Quilting Machine for Rent

Bigfork Quilts, etc. is home to a longarm quilting machine available for rent.  Hours available are Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. unless a class is scheduled. Cost is $50 a day.  Please call to reserve time.

Hand Quilting Instruction Available

Mary Sanchez is available to provide hand quilting instruction for private or group lessons.  Hours available are Wednesday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $10/hr per person.  Please call to reserve time.

Interested in a Class?

If you and at least two other students are interested in taking a class on a topic of your choice and/or that fits your schedule, please let us know and we will be happy to set one up that works for you.  Private class sessions are also available.

Class Information

Bigfork Quilts, Etc. is located at 7571 Hwy 35, Bigfork, MT.  Class times are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. unless otherwise noted. The classroom will be open at 9:45 a.m. to allow for set-up. Please call (406) 837-7111 or email bigforkquiltsetc@gmail.com to reserve space and if you have any questions.  Class fees are payable by cash or check and must be received at least three days prior to class to secure your reserved space. If payment is not received, your reserved space can be given to a waitlisted student.  Please call at least 72 hours prior to class to cancel to receive a full refund.  A cancellation less than 72 hours prior to class will receive a store credit. A minimum of three students is required for each class.  Supply lists will be emailed upon class sign-up.
