June, 2014 Classes

Hello,

 We are looking forward to a great summer here in Bigfork. There are always so many things to do and see, company coming and going and outdoor projects. But remember to take some time for yourself to work on quilting projects and learn something new.

 We have some exciting classes this month and you might notice that some of our regular classes are not mentioned this time. Twisted Fibers and Mary’s Hand Quilting are cancelled for June. We will resume them later in the summer so rest easy.

Sat., June 7

Shimmering Garden Spinoff

10 am - 4 pm  Sandi-$30.00

This class has been rescheduled from last week to today. There are a couple of spaces and kits remaining if you would like to join us. Sign up as quickly as possible because there is some homework before class. Kit is $27.50 and includes fabric and magazine.

Bring your own project and join in the laughter and camaraderie! We usually order lunch or bring your own. See you there!

Bigfork Piecemakers Quilt Show

10am - 5pm

The quilt show will be in a new location this year. Bethany Lutherns’ Ark is located just north of the church and set back off the road.

Wed., June 18

Thread Painting

10am-4pm -Monique K. - $35.00

Monique Kleinhans of Ladybug's Cabin will be teaching thread painting. We will play with different threads on fabric to give your projects added depth and dimension. Learn to embellish, emphasize or change the appearance of a project with threads. A kit will be required and a supply list provided before class.

Bargello Table Runner

10am - 4pm - Clara  - $30.00

If you have wanted to create a bargello quilt, now is your opportunity! This is a fast, easy project and you will be very happy with the results! Clara is a great teacher and happy to share her knowledge and experience with you.

Color Book Quilts

10am - 4pm - Carol Martin - $35.00

Carol has been creating wonderfully detailed wall hangings by using color book artwork. She has received the artists’ permission to teach her technique to us! Once again, there is some homework so sign up soon. This is fusible applique.

Block of the Month

10 am-4 pm,  

Come in and purchase the final kit to complete Spring Sprouts. Kit will include the sashing and inner border fabric plus a few more pieces for stars and the final blocks.  

Class Information

Bigfork Quilts, Etc. is located at 7571 Hwy 35, Bigfork, MT.  Class times are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. unless otherwise noted. The classroom will be open at 9:45 a.m. to allow for set-up. Please call (406) 837-7111 or email bigforkquiltsetc@gmail.com to reserve space and if you have any questions.  Class fees are payable by cash or check and must be received at least three days prior to class to secure your reserved space. If payment is not received, your reserved space can be given to a waitlisted student.  Please call at least 72 hours prior to class to cancel in order to receive a full refund.  A cancellation less than 72 hours prior to class will receive a store credit.  A minimum of three students is required for each class. Supply lists will be emailed upon class sign-up.

CLASS SCHEDULE

Every Thursday - Open Sew

The studio is open every Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Open Sew, with extended hours the 2^nd and 4^th Thursday until 6 p.m.  Bring your sewing machine and whatever project you're working on.  There is a large cutting table and extra large ironing board available for your use.

  

Hand Quilting Instruction Available

Mary Sanchez is available to provide hand quilting instruction for private or group lessons.  Hours available are Wednesday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $10/hr per person.  Please call to reserve time.

Interested in a Class?

If you and at least two other students are interested in taking a class on a topic of your choice and/or that fits your schedule, please let us know and we will be happy to set one up that works for you.  Private class sessions are also available.
