Raw Edge Applique Class Upcoming. . .

This next Tuesday, April 16, Karri is teaching a raw edge applique class.
You are welcome to bring a pattern/kit you have already purchased, or, if you're unfamiliar,
do this Backdoor Bear pattern/kit available.  Karri will discuss tracing onto and using fusible web, cutting applique pieces, as well as how to quilt.

If you are interested, please email us at bigforkquiltsetc@gmail.com and we will email a supply list.  Class begins at 10 a.m.

Table Topper Club Uses the Squedge 22.5 Ruler. . .

This is the topper we made today for our monthly Table Topper Club.
The technique used is made using this Squedge 22.5 ruler available in our shop here. The ruler and pattern are by Phillips Fiber Art.
The students were busy sewing away,
and coming up with various color variations.
Here's one that's monochromatic,
and this one is being made using strips wider than what the pattern calls for.
I love stripes and decided to try this color pattern.
I enjoy the optical play that is created by simply changing the topper's orientation.  The finished size is 16" and the squares can be combined to create many designs.  I'm going to have to make a table runner next.

Blessings,
Karri

April Class Schedule Ready. . .

The BQE April class schedule is ready and posted http://bigforkquiltsetc.blogspot.com/p/class-schedule.html.  But a few date oops! were found and have been corrected:  My Fabric Garden is Saturday, April 13; Happy Apron is Wednesday, April 24.  Here are a few of the highlights.
This My Fabric Garden quilt, taught by Clara, made using a serger, giving the flowers dimension and pop.
This Cut-Away Flowers block, taught by Becky, is layered fabric, cut away to create depth to the flower.
This Happy Apron pattern by Sew Simple Patterns is our first apron class taught by Sandi.  We expect more to come.

Please be sure to check out the class schedule to see the full offerings for this month.  We look forward to seeing you.

Blessings,
Karri & Sandi
