 Summer has flown by as it usually does. We are having cooler nights and days. That must mean it is time to get fall, winter and holiday projects lined up and ready for completion.
 We will be open for Labor Day. Come in and check out our new fabrics. We have grown quite a bit, thanks to all of you.

At last! Here is an opportunity to get assistance and ideas on finishing your art quilts that are waiting for inspiration!   Bring in your project (any project) and get Monique’s ideas and creative insight on bringing it further along toward completion.
 


Tuesday, Sept. 6, Row by Row Experience 2016 ends.
Today is the final day to pick up your kit or free pattern for the Row By Row Experience 2016. There will be no sales from 9/7 through 10/31. This is the rest period for the shops, but your time to complete your quilt and be the first to bring it into a shop nearby. Each shop has a prize for the first completed quilt brought in.
 
Friday, Sept. 9, Twisted Fibers *Sandi* 10 am–4 pm, $10.00
This is a no machines allowed day. Our wool is in stock for the first 5 blocks for the Wooly Lady project. Feel free to bring your own project or participate in the current Heirloom Blooms block of the month by Wooly Lady.

 
Saturday, Sept. 17, Metro Rings, *Clara* 10 am-4 pm, $35.00
Clara has been working on this pattern and on mastering the Quick Curve ruler required. Patterns and the ruler are available in the shop, or if you already have one and desire help on creating your project this is your chance. There are other patterns available using the ruler and we are loving them all!
 
Flathead Quilt Guild Quilt Show
Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23 & 24.

It’s quilt show time again! “Oh! the Possibilities! Traditions Re-Imagined” is this year’s show at the Flathead County Fairgrounds. Show times are: Fri. 9:30-5:00 and Sat. 9:30-4:00. Come visit us and enjoy the show!
 
Tuesday, Sept. 27, Learn to Foundation Paper Piece *Pam* 10am-4pm. $35.00
 
Have you wanted to learn foundation paper piecing but think you are afraid? Fear no more! Pam will teach this beautiful table topper and show you how easy and fun the process can be.
I want everyone to know that we are doing our best to have all of the supplies needed for our classes. We intend to have patterns, fusibles, rulers, threads, needles, etc. If you do not have something at home already, please give us a call to see if we have it available.
Bigfork Quilts, Etc. is located at 7571 Hwy 35, Bigfork, MT.  Class times are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. unless otherwise noted. The classroom will be open at 9:45 a.m. to allow for set-up. Please call (406) 837-7111 or email bigforkquiltsetc@gmail.com to reserve space and if you have any questions.  Class fees are payable by cash or check and must be received at least three days prior to class to secure your reserved space. If payment is not received, your reserved space can be given to a waitlisted student.  Please call at least 72 hours prior to class to cancel in order to receive a full refund.  A cancellation less than 72 hours prior to class will receive a store credit.  A minimum of three students is required for most classes. Supply lists will be emailed upon class sign-up.

Hello,
 I hope this finds all of you enjoying your summer. There is always plenty to do, visitors to enjoy, vacations to take and, hopefully, time to relax.
  The class schedule is light for this month. We will have a sale from July 28th through Aug. 4th, 15% off most items. Exclusions will include: kits for our Row By Row, wool, gift cards, fabric kits from Toni Whitney and Ladybug’s Cabin and items already on sale.
 There are many quilting events going on in our beautiful state this month and I hope you get a chance to enjoy some of them.

This is a cute, very handy organizer that Karri has developed. She uses hers for handwork projects. We will supply the ziplock bags for the center, you provide fabric and a few other supplies.

Tuesday, Aug. 23, Lotus *Clara*
10 am-4 pm, $35.00
This is a Jaybird Quilts pattern and uses the Hex and More Ruler. You will be surprised at how easy the ruler is to use and how quickly this design goes together.

Hand Quilting Instruction Available

Mary Sanchez is available to provide hand quilting instruction for private or group lessons. Cost is $10.00 per hour. We can help you make arrangements with Mary to learn this time-honored skill.

Interested in a Class?

This is an amazing pineapple-style quilt done in a gradation of greens. The pattern is Pine Tree by Whirlygig. There is homework to do before class.
 
 
Wed., July 20, Bobbin Work, *Monique* $40.00 10 am -4 pm.
Can't resist all those incredible decorative threads that won't fit through a sewing machine needle? Why not try bobbin work? In this class we'll explore the decorative stitches on your sewing machine, as well as play with free motion embroidery techniques used in thread art.
 
Sat., July 23, Coloring on Fabric: Inktense pencils   *Monique* $40.00 10 am-4 pm.
A fun and simple way to bring your fabric projects to life. Create unique works of art even from commercial patterns using Inktense watercolor pencils. Easy to control, blend and completely permanent when finished, these pencils will become one of your favorite 'tools in the box'. If you're looking for a way to enhance your projects, add some extra fun to your quilted works, or just enjoy coloring--this class is for you!
 
 

Row by Row Experience 
From 6/1 through 9/6
Come in and pick up your pattern for free or a kit with the pattern. There are national rules that we need to follow so please be nice when we say you may not have 2 free patterns; but you can have one free pattern and then purchase a kit which includes a pattern.

Hello to All!






 
 As most of you know, we are getting ready for the Row By Row Experience. It starts on Tues., 6/21 and runs through Sept. 6.
 We have developed a pattern for our row and we have packaged kits. Kits with the pattern are $15.95. You may come into the shop for a free pattern, but only 1 per person. For any extra patterns, a kit must be purchased.
 For the first customer that brings in a finished quilt (minimum 8 rows, bound and labeled) there is a bundle of fat quarters as a prize. If our shop row is included, the winner will also receive a gift certificate for $25.00.
 We hope that you enjoy the experience; come in to say 'Hi" and pick up your row!

May 2016, Newsletter

Friday, May 27, Quilted Skinnies

This month is the last design in our Quilted Skinnies book. We will continue with the small projects as everyone has enjoyed them so much. Come in and get the pattern for June and work on the very cute owl for this month. Kits for club members are $12.50.


Sat., May 28, Quick Curve Ruler, *Clara* 10am-4pm
We have two patterns that use this ruler and the technique is similar for both. Learn to use this ruler to create a quick, easy
wedding ring style quilt (Metro Rings) or the more contemporary Metro Twist.
